Our clients purchased an unpretentious lakefront 1970s rambler with the intention of replacing it for their young family. A tight site meant pushing the setback limits and a vertical solution. The proximity to the lake also meant no basement.
Our effort was guided by our clients’ love of modern design and their 270-degree lake views. Most rooms enjoy multiple panoramas. We further connected the house to the outdoors by adding a ground floor terrace, main-level deck, screened porch, and an open balcony off the master bedroom above. We incorporated an elevator shaft so this young couple can age in place by the lake.
