Acquiring a tired house on Lake of the Isles marked the beginning of our clients’ lifetime dream of living on the lake. Our task: bring it back to its original stature and update it for contemporary living. We ended up touching every surface. Most notably, we added a terrace to the front to more graciously address the lake, doubled the kitchen with an addition offering views of the lake, and added a mudroom. We gutted the second floor, creating one master suite across the front and two guest suites farther back. The basement and third floor were finished. The exterior was restored to its original glory.
